The card in your wallet answers one question

It shows that you completed an Outreach course. OSHA says student cards for Construction, General Industry, Maritime and Disaster Site do not expire. That does not make the course a professional license or a substitute for training on the hazards of a particular job. (OSHA: do student completion cards expire?; OSHA Outreach Training Program FAQ)

This is how two people can argue about the same card and both be talking about different rules: one means the federal course record; the other means what a contractor will accept on Monday.

Three examples worth keeping separate

Local requirements are specific. These examples are a starting point for checking the official rule, not a nationwide renewal schedule.

Place or cardWhat to check
Nevada constructionCurrent SCATS guidance says construction OSHA 10/30 cards do not expire. Specified entertainment and trade-show jobs have different recency rules.
New York City SSTThe Site Safety Training card has a five-year term and its own renewal requirements. It is not the same card as OSHA 10 or 30.
Philadelphia constructionOSHA 10 Construction or an approved alternative applies to covered workers. Certain licensed contractors must identify an OSHA 30-trained supervisor with recent training; exceptions and renewal alternatives apply.

Use the local source for the local question

Nevada is a good example of why an old chart can lead you astray: its current state program distinguishes construction from entertainment and trade-show work. Do not put a blanket five-year expiry on every Nevada construction card. (Nevada SCATS: course completion card expiration)

For New York City, read the SST renewal instructions for the actual card held. Philadelphia's contractor page separately describes covered workers, supervisors, exceptions and accepted continuing education. Those details matter more than a headline saying 'OSHA renewal.' (NYC Department of Buildings: SST questions; Philadelphia: contractor training requirements)

Before the crew reaches the gate

Ask the person controlling site access which course and date range they accept. Keep the answer with the job, including who confirmed it. If someone needs training, allow time to book and complete it before assigning that person to the work.

Record the course title, completion date, trainer contact and any site-specific review date. Call your own check a review, not an expiry. In BizzyBot, a calendar event can hold that date and the assigned person; it does not verify credentials or book training.

Lost card? Start with the trainer

OSHA directs students to the issuing trainer for replacement records. Trainers keep records for five years, and replacement-card requests are limited by the program's rules. On plastic cards, the QR code can help identify the issuing education center for verification. (OSHA Outreach Training Program FAQ)

Keep that trainer contact when you first receive the card. It is a small favor to the future person digging through the glove box.

Business examples from 2025 U.S. Census application data

What's the difference between owners, teammates and light users?

Owner: $12/month. The person who runs the business workspace, manages billing and decides who gets access.

Teammates: $6 per person, per month. They create or change projects, tasks, schedules and events, and use the calendars. Their permissions decide what they can change.

Light users: $0 per person, per month. They can view schedules and the jobs they're assigned to in the owner's workspace. People who edit that work need a teammate seat.
