Start with the bill you already pay

Microsoft Bookings comes with Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard and Business Premium, among other plans, and Microsoft's overview lists no price for it alone. A bundle is only free if you were already buying the bundle. What's inside is real, though: a web booking page that works with your Outlook calendar. (Microsoft: Bookings overview)

On 30 September 2026, Calendly listed Standard at $10 a seat a month and its Teams plan at $16, billed monthly. Yearly billing saved 17% on Standard and 20% on the Teams plan. One person can stay on Calendly Free, with one event type and one calendar connection. Five people who each take bookings pay $50 a month on Standard or $80 on the Teams plan, before tax. (Calendly pricing)

Bizzy Bookings has no price of its own either. It comes with the BizzyBot owner workspace at $12 a month, plus $6 for each teammate who edits, so an owner and four editing teammates pay $36 before tax.

Count the messages before the appointment

Microsoft's overview says Microsoft Bookings sends e-mail and SMS text notifications, and that they reduce no-shows. That's a vendor claim, not a test result. (Microsoft: Bookings overview)

Calendly's pricing page lists automations from Standard up, at $10 a seat a month billed monthly. Calendly Free doesn't include them. (Calendly pricing)

Bizzy Bookings sends no text messages, only e-mail. The customer gets a confirmation, then reminders at the times you choose, one day and one hour before unless you change them. A note follows if the booking moves or is canceled, and by default you hear about each booking by e-mail and in Bizzy Messages.

Decide who the customer books with

Microsoft's shared booking pages hold your services, staff members and business hours, and let customers book time with you and your team, per its overview. Calendly puts round robin and team scheduling on its Teams plan, at $16 a seat. (Microsoft: Bookings overview; Calendly pricing)

A Bizzy Bookings meeting type has one host, or round robin across the teammates you tick, and round robin picks the host for each booking. Paused teammates are skipped. A site visit works the same way, with one assignee or the assigned crew.

The BizzyBot option

Bizzy Bookings comes with BizzyBot at $12 a month for the owner, $6 for each teammate who edits and $0 for light users. An owner, two editing teammates and three light users pay $24 a month before tax.

As a Microsoft Bookings alternative, it fits when the people taking bookings also need tasks, projects, a calendar and the crew's week in one place. A service visit books an arrival window at the customer's address instead of an exact start time. With guest follow-up on, each guest becomes a customer record and the booking lands on your calendar.

Bizzy Bookings takes no payments or deposits and sends no text messages. It reads your busy time from BizzyBot and connected Google calendars only, so an Outlook calendar isn't checked. It doesn't check a service area, either. The booking page is shared as a link, with no widget to embed, and the BizzyBot name stays on it.

If your meetings run in Microsoft Teams, Bizzy Bookings is the wrong pick. It makes no Teams links. The free trial lasts one hour with no card needed, and Bizzy Bookings is a preview there, so taking real bookings needs the paid workspace.

Book the same appointment on both

Before you choose, book one test appointment on Microsoft Bookings and one on Calendly from a phone, as a customer in another time zone. Then count the e-mails and ask three questions:

  • Does the time the customer picked match the time on your calendar?
  • Which video link arrived, and did it open on the phone?
  • What happens when the customer moves the booking to another day?

Bizzy Bookings joins the test once the workspace is paid. Book yourself from a phone, move the booking with its Manage link and watch which e-mails follow.

Questions & answers

Is Microsoft Bookings free?

No. It comes with qualifying Microsoft 365 plans, such as Business Basic, and Microsoft's overview lists no price for it alone. If you already pay for one of those plans, it costs nothing extra.

Does Calendly create Microsoft Teams links?

Yes. Calendly's help center says its Microsoft Teams connection creates a Teams link for every Calendly meeting. The same page says you need a Microsoft 365 Business or Office 365 Education account for it.

Can Bizzy Bookings make a Zoom or Teams link?

No. Bizzy Bookings creates a Google Meet link for each booking, or sends a meeting link you paste in. The Meet link needs your Google Calendar connected first.

Can my customer add the booking to Outlook?

Yes. The Bizzy Bookings confirmation has an Add to Outlook button and a downloadable .ics invite. Your own busy time comes from BizzyBot and connected Google calendars only, so an Outlook calendar isn't checked.

Does Bizzy Bookings send text messages?

No. Bizzy Bookings sends e-mail only: a confirmation, reminders at the times you choose and a note when a booking moves or is canceled. Microsoft's overview lists SMS text notifications for Microsoft Bookings, a vendor claim this page didn't test.

Business examples from 2025 U.S. Census application data

What's the difference between owners, teammates and light users?

Owner: $12/month. The person who runs the business workspace, manages billing and decides who gets access.

Teammates: $6 per person, per month. They create or change projects, tasks, schedules and events, and use the calendars. Their permissions decide what they can change.

Light users: $0 per person, per month. They can view schedules and the jobs they're assigned to in the owner's workspace. People who edit that work need a teammate seat.
