The anniversary month is the part that matters

Find the organization date in the state record. For a June LLC, the ordinary deadline comes before June begins, not on the June day the business was formed. Put that distinction in the calendar entry so it is clear to anyone who handles the filing later. (Illinois Secretary of State: domestic LLC guide)

The Secretary of State's guide says a pre-filled report is sent to the registered agent about 45 days before the due date. That describes the mailing schedule; it is not a reason to wait for the envelope. (Illinois Secretary of State: domestic LLC guide)

Read the form before changing an agent

Form LLC-50.1 asks for the company, organization date, principal business address and managers or members with manager authority. It lists the $75 fee and the $100 late penalty. (Illinois Form LLC-50.1: annual report)

There is a useful catch on the form: registered-agent or registered-office changes must use Form LLC-1.36/1.37. Updating a note in your own records does not update the state's registered-agent record. (Illinois Form LLC-50.1: annual report)

Late filing is a process, not a free extra 180 days

Illinois sends a notice of delinquency. For the report and payment defaults specified in the statute, the LLC must correct the default within 120 days following the notice date to avoid administrative dissolution. The late penalty and the notice process are separate reasons to act promptly. (Illinois 805 ILCS 180/35-30: dissolution procedure)

If a notice has arrived, use its date and the Secretary of State's current instructions. Do not calculate a safe filing day from a generic online countdown.

Make next year a short job

Open the official annual-report service or use the required paper form. After filing, save the confirmation with the entity name and report year. Then set a preparation date well ahead of the next deadline. (Illinois Secretary of State: file an annual report)

The person handling next year’s report needs the report year, confirmation and next preparation date. Save those together, especially if the registered agent or manager changes.

Questions & answers

Is the report due on my formation anniversary?

No. It is due before the first day of that anniversary month. A September 15 organization date means filing before September 1.

Can I change the registered agent on the annual report?

Form LLC-50.1 directs registered-agent and registered-office changes to Form LLC-1.36/1.37.

Does every LLC pay exactly $75?

That is the standard filing fee. Series fees, penalties or other applicable charges can change the total; check the official form and filing service.

How do I know the report was accepted?

Keep the filing confirmation and check the LLC’s state record. If the payment went through but the report status is unclear, contact the Secretary of State before submitting another copy.

What's the difference between owners, teammates and light users?

Owner: $12/month. The person who runs the business workspace, manages billing and decides who gets access.

Teammates: $6 per person, per month. They create or change projects, tasks, schedules and events, and use the calendars. Their permissions decide what they can change.

Light users: $0 per person, per month. They can view schedules and the jobs they're assigned to in the owner's workspace. People who edit that work need a teammate seat.
